Please give at least 48 hours notice for your repeat prescription.
Please write down your requirements or use the computer slip and hand it in or post it to us. For reasons of safety and confidentiality we do not accept requests over the telephone apart from exceptional circumstances.
You may also order online via the link at the top of this page. Please note that you will need to register for this service. Please contact reception to do so.
Some pharmacies will collect your prescription for you. Please contact your pharmacist to arrange this.
You can now register for electronic prescribing. This enables you to collect your prescriptions directly from your pharmacy of choice. Please ask your pharmacy for details of this service.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs). The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 15 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
There is further information about prescription exemptions and fees on the NHS website
When you request a repeat prescription at the surgery you can now have this sent electronically to a Pharmacist of your choice.
You need to sign up to this in one of the following ways:
Speak to the Receptionist when you next request your medication or
Speak to the Phamacist of your choice.
The benefit of this service is that you do not need to collect your prescription from the surgery you just go straight to the Pharmacy of choice. Please leave a 2 day gap before collecting your medication from the Pharmacy.
You can change the Pharmacy of choice or stop the process completely by contacting Reception.
Please note, prescriptions can be collected from the surgery up to 3.30pm on Christmas Eve and New years Eve.
